1,205th to die: July 24, 2010 –Sgt. Daniel Lim, 23, of Cypress, California at Qalat, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained when insurgents attacked their military vehicle with a bomb.
They were assigned to the 5th Battalion, 3rd Field Artillery Regiment, 17th Fires Brigade, at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Lim enlisted in 2006 while attending Cal State University as a freshman. Graduating from Pacifica High School in Garden Grove.  Daniel is remembered by family and friends as someone who always thought of other people before himself. He shared a special bond with his younger sister, caring for her after school, that he was lovingly dubbed “Mom.”

  In Afghanistan, he stood in line for hours each week to call his parents, wanting to reassure them that he was OK. “What we should remember of Daniel is that he is a man who gave all, gave all for his family, his sister, his community and our country," said Nicholas Oh, Lim's godfather.

Sgt. Daniel Lim was and always will be his family’s Hero.
